For those of you who might not know, Helen Thomas has been in the White House Press Corps almost since the days of John Adams, and she's a dyed-in-the-wool, yellow dog democrat. For her to notice and point this crap out really says something about the approach being taken by this administration.
Here's her specific comment:
"The point is the control from here. We have never had that in the White House. And we have had some control but not this control. I mean I'm amazed, I'm amazed at you people who call for openness and transparency and you have controlled..."
Now be sure to watch the video. I am reminded of Squealer the pig from George Orwell's Animal Farm: "Some animals are more equal than others"

Gibbs was piss poor in his attempt to come across as befuddled. He knew EXACTLY the point they were making, and he was determined (or disallowed) to not address it squarely.
