Notice there's no service of warrant.

Notice all the yelling and shouting orders at the residents of the home.

See them as they're frisked on further down the street.

Land of the brave and home of the free, indeed.

This entire mess was a dry run for coming martial law.  If you can't accept that truth, then you're simply a fool.  The empire is tightening its grip and your so-called "Rights" don't mean squat in the new Socialist AmeriKa.

When I consider that Boston, the cradle of the American Revolution, lately cowered in fear before the ham-handed acts of terrorists who should have been named Abbot and Costello.

When I consider that on the anniversary of the Shot Heard Round The World, the children of the men who fired that shot now crouch and cravenly lick the hand of GOOBERment agents who did thousands of times more damage to Boston than the Chechen bozos did. 

When I consider the in-your-face evidence that the entire US Bill of Rights is now nothing more than propaganda to be taught to school children.

And as Mr. Denninger rightly points out, we are sending the message to the whole world that we are a nation of whimpering children who long for their Nanny.

Yes, killing Osama bin Laden is a big secret that would be hard to keep for long. Certainly Pakistan would grow agitated if we simply said nothing about the incursion, though sweating the Janus-faced Pakistanis with silence for a couple of days might yield its own intelligence rewards. In other words, even waiting 24 hours might generate some interesting "chatter." The Pakistanis working with Al Qaeda certainly would have been the first to spread the news that Bin Laden was dead or captured.

But the real treasure trove would be that "college library" of intelligence. And while reports are pouring out from a gloating White House that's leaking like the Titanic in its final hours, one can only assume our analysts have barely begun to exploit the data.

Couldn't they have at least tried to give the CIA a week, a day, even a few more hours to look at it all before letting Ayman Zawahiri and the rest of Al Qaeda know about it? Why give him the slightest head start to go even further underground?

Obama Signs One-Year Extension of Patriot Act – on a Saturday Night Of Course

With virtually zero debate - or media attention - President Barack Obama has signed a one-year extension for what many considered the most crucial and controversial aspects of the USA PATRIOT Act. The provisions, set to expire Sunday without the signature of Obama, include extensions to allow:

-1) "roving" wiretaps, permitting surveillance on multiple phones and e-mail addresses.

-2) court-approved seizures of records and property in anti-terrorism operations.

-3) surveillance on "lone-wolf" foreign nationals, who may not be part of a recognized terrorist group.

Originally set to expire in December, a two-month extension was passed by Congress late last year.

For many on the left, the Patriot Act is the defining pillar and symbol of the previous administration, emblematic of a totalitarian police state they allegedly suffered under George W. Bush. And what does not come as a surprise is the fact Obama's signature comes on a Saturday night - when all the world is surely clamoring for the latest political news.

Expect a buzzsaw of media scrutiny from the champions of the so-called candidate of "change" in mainstream media the next several news-cycles?

Me neither.

An absolute travesty of justice

I took Time magazine for many years, until I began to note its horrific leftist slant, and that was the end of that. Occasionally I will stumble across an issue somewhere and even a cursory glance reveals it’s only gotten worse not better.

That being said, I read a recent article in Time about the passenger’s role in subduing the terrorist on Flight 253 to Detroit on Christmas Day. I’ve got to give the author credit for some hard hitting commentary on:

- general government ineptness on everything it does
- referring to Obama’s comments on the incident as “blather”
- acknowledging that airline security is not secure
- pointing out that leveraging courage and dedication of the private citizen is the best course of action

It’s a pretty good read in general and I encourage you to read the whole thing. But if you need the executive summary, here is the “goodie”:

After the passengers of Flight 253 deplaned in Detroit, they were held in the baggage area for more than five hours until FBI agents interviewed them. They were not allowed to call their loved ones. They were given no food. When one of the pilots tried to use the bathroom before a bomb-sniffing dog had finished checking all the carry-on bags, an officer ordered him to sit down, according to passenger Alain Ghonda, who thought it odd. "He was the pilot. If he wanted to do anything, he could've crashed the plane." It was a metaphor for the rest of the country: Thank you for saving the day. Now go sit down.
