Why there will always be tyrants

I see in the news that Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez has left the earth for his appointment with Satan.  Only the willfully ignorant refuse to accept that the man was a tyrant.

I've read some of the comments being published by the propaganda ... err... the press, and one in particular caught my eye:

"He was our father..." said Carlos Perez, a municipal worker (recipient of a government check).

So long as there exists the view that government can serve the role of a father, there will be people who are content to be treated as children.   So long as there are people who crave their neighbor's substance, there will be the politician willing to take from Peter to give to Paul - at gunpoint if need be.

This "man" gave up his guns, and provides yet another example of the metrosexual male this country produces today

I have a strong stomach, but this assclown's tale (if it's to be believed) made me want to retch.  To be honest, I couldn't finish reading it.

Pure communism!

These are the demands of the Occupy Wall Street (bowel) Movement as posted on their website:

Demand one: Restoration of the living wage. This demand can only be met by ending “Freetrade” by re-imposing trade tariffs on all imported goods entering the American market to level the playing field for domestic family farming and domestic manufacturing as most nations that are dumping cheap products onto the American market have radical wage and environmental regulation advantages. Another policy that must be instituted is raise the minimum wage to twenty dollars an hr.

Demand two: Institute a universal single payer healthcare system. To do this all private insurers must be banned from the healthcare market as their only effect on the health of patients is to take money away from doctors, nurses and hospitals preventing them from doing their jobs and hand that money to wall st. investors.

Demand three: Guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment.

Demand four: Free college education.

Demand five: Begin a fast track process to bring the fossil fuel economy to an end while at the same bringing the alternative energy economy up to energy demand.

Demand six: One trillion dollars in infrastructure (Water, Sewer, Rail, Roads and Bridges and Electrical Grid) spending now.

Demand seven: One trillion dollars in ecological restoration planting forests, reestablishing wetlands and the natural flow of river systems and decommissioning of all of America’s nuclear power plants.

Demand eight: Racial and gender equal rights amendment.

Demand nine: Open borders migration. anyone can travel anywhere to work and live.

Demand ten: Bring American elections up to international standards of a paper ballot precinct counted and recounted in front of an independent and party observers system.

Demand eleven: Immediate across the board debt forgiveness for all. Debt forgiveness of sovereign debt, commercial loans, home mortgages, home equity loans, credit card debt, student loans and personal loans now! All debt must be stricken from the “Books.” World Bank Loans to all Nations, Bank to Bank Debt and all Bonds and Margin Call Debt in the stock market including all Derivatives or Credit Default Swaps, all 65 trillion dollars of them must also be stricken from the “Books.” And I don’t mean debt that is in default, I mean all debt on the entire planet period.

Demand twelve: Outlaw all credit reporting agencies.

Demand thirteen: Allow all workers to sign a ballot at any time during a union organizing campaign or at any time that represents their yeah or nay to having a union represent them in collective bargaining or to form a union.

These demands will create so many jobs it will be completely impossible to fill them without an open borders policy.

I knew that political correctness was making inroads into the military. I knew the Marines weren't the same as when I served. I knew being "offensive" was fast becoming a crime among the perpetually and professionally aggrieved. But this is getting just plain ridiculous!

As far as I'm concerned, if a young Marine can put his life on the line and possibly give his life for the "spread of freedom and democracy" and all of that crap for the Afghans, then by God he ought to be able to FART!

Subtle threat of violence?

Apparently during the recent protests in Madison, someone scattered .22 rounds around inside the capitol building. I read about it in some blog comments somewhere so I did a search. Of course I can only seem to find mention of this event on minor news sources. Imagine if this had been a Tea Party event - and ammo was found scattered around? It would be front page news on the NYT.

Clearly this is a hint of violence. The message being sent is “We’re going to start shooting.” The wonderful thing about messages like this - is that messages can be sent in both directions.

Getting back to nature - college ecologist style

Over twenty years ago I attended the University of North Florida. As a student, I spent lots of time on the nature trails that are there. The property that the university is built on was once an active tree farm that encircled a large hardwood swamp known as sawmill slough.

There are five or six miles of trails that wind their way among several different kinds of terrain, and it's really something to see: very beautiful.

Now this old redneck Southern boy thoroughly enjoyed those trails during the sometimes lengthy breaks between classes, and I knew that trail system like the back of my hand.

This weekend I went back to the university to walk those trails again, and I was dismayed and disgusted at what I found. Everywhere I looked there was some kind of sign; signs telling me what kind of tree I was looking at, signs telling me to stay on the path, signs telling me to not litter (as if!), and signs complete with miniature maps of the trail system so I wouldn’t get lost.

In addition to the myriad of signs, the place was full of park benches, picnic tables, exercise stations, distance markers, call boxes (for security from the squirrels I guess), garbage cans, etc. There were lots of raised wooden walkways so my feet wouldn’t ever need to get the least bit muddy in low-lying spots along the trail. Nevermind that those walkways were wet and slick as greased lightning, making me yearn for the muddy trail that I never previously worried about falling down on!

I found it very ironic that the nature loving leftists that surely were responsible for this massive human footprint, if asked, would sincerely reply that they were “helping nature protect itself from the depredations of man”.

The very essence of stupidity (or proof of life on other planets)

I don't believe I've ever read so much imbecility and asininity crammed into such a small space. Wading through this kid's stereotypes, non sequiters, grammatical lunacy, and positively laughable sense of logic, I think I actually felt my own IQ slip a couple of points. A big clue was when I finished reading it, my jaw hung slackly and a blank glazed look had crept over my face.

Beware, this short little anti-gun piece by a Colorado State University Sociology and Journalism major, could be the proof that there is primitive life out there on other planets. Planet Moonbat is certainly populated!

Guns, freedom and more guns

PS: Do yourself a favor and have look at the comments in response. Young Mr. Bowman has had his ass handed to him on a platter.

Set aside please all arguments as to the applicability of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Go back to your dictionary and look up the word “unalienable” instead of antediluvian. I don’t need the permission of either document to exercise my UNALIENABLE right to defend myself with whatsoever firearm I care to procure and possess.

And if you or anyone else thinks askance of that view, then I enjoin you to mosey your lil college boy behind on over and try to disarm me - and several million other Americans who are equally as passionate about the matter!

No…that won’t happen. Instead you and your sheep-like ilk will continue to compel some other mother’s son to do what you don’t have courage to attempt. Either way, someone will have to kill me to take ANY of my unalienable rights away from me.

Just because you wish to immerse yourself in the global circle-jerk collective, and march in lockstep with the rest of the hive out there, don’t expect the rest of us to come along quietly for the ride.

My response to the cries of “yes we can” is an emphatic “NO HELL YOU CAN’T!”

Questions to ask progressives

Ex-Soviet immigrant Oleg Atbashian tells of meeting a couple of moon-bat "progressives" at a book signing. After attempting (and failing) to rationally debate their points he changed tactics and began asking questions.

Here are some of his questions:

* If diversity training benefits everyone, why do those classes mostly consist of white heterosexual males?

* How come Hollywood can always find a good side in thugs, but never in businesspeople? What was the last movie that pictured a self-reliant, industrious man as a role model?

* If there are no absolutes and family is an antiquated tool of bourgeois oppression, why is having gay marriage an absolute must?

* If Hollywood types are so opposed to capitalism, why is there a warning against unauthorized distribution of their movies?

* How come those who hate humanity for its faults are called “humanists” but those who love humanity for its virtues are called “hate-mongers”?

* Can you name one person who paid the IRS more than he owed because he trusted the government to put his money to good use?

The object is to reduce and eventually eliminate alternatives – to subsume everything within the Big Government monopoly. Statists prefer national one-size-fits all – and ultimately planet-wide one-size-fits-all. Borders create the nearest thing to a free market in government – as the elite well understand when they seek to avoid the burdens they impose on you. John Kerry, a Big Tax senator from a Big Tax state, preferred to register his yacht in Rhode Island to avoid half-a-million bucks in cockamamie Massachusetts “boat sales and use” tax. Howard Metzenbaum, the pro-Death Tax senator from Ohio, adjusted his legal residency just before he died from Ohio to Florida, because the former had an estate tax and the latter didn’t. Her book Silent Spring led to the worldwide banning on DDT; all based on junk science, all wrong, and with the result that malaria and other mosquito-born diseases are responsible for scores of millions of deaths in the Third-World, all due to one liberal author’s wrongheaded view of pesticides!
