Gun banner ignorance on display

I’m not much of a shotgun guy, so I don’t own a significant number of them. However I did recently purchase one in recognition of the fact that few weapons are better for home defense than a shotgun loaded with 00 Buckshot. When you’re sleeping, and you hear the sound of breaking glass or whatever other sound that jolts you wide awake in the middle of the night – there’s nothing more comforting that something like this:



This is (see above) the model I bought, and if you’ll notice it has a barrel shroud.



When showing it to She Who Must Be Obeyed (SWMBO) she asked about the shroud. In the process of explaining to her its function, I remembered that gun-banning whacko congresswoman from NY Carolyn McCarthy. The congresswoman, in her near-total ignorance would ban barrel shrouds because they look sinister - never mind that they're actually a safety device.
