Government mindlessness

Zero tolerance policies in schools should be renamed. Here are some suggested names for the concept of having iron-clad rules that no one is willing to interpret on a case by case basis:

You get the idea.

Here's a case of an 11 year old girl who took some empty shotgun cartridges with her to her government mandated indoctrination center (public school). The price for her lack of awareness to the PC BS that dominates those places: Suspension!

And some of the collectivist drones even have the audacity to suggest that she's lucky she wasn't expelled.

This is all because the highly paid government bureaucrats who run these places don't like to actually make decisions. They'd much rather let "policy" do all the heavy lifting. Then what the hell are we paying THEM for!!!!!

All together now... repeat after me...

More government is the answer

Great deer - perfect opportunity - pull trigger - CLICK

This incident happened on December 9, 2007

I just wanted to share with y’all my hunting experience from this past weekend.

My personal best is a 9 point buck, so naturally I want something bigger. This season I have let perfectly good bucks walk by in the hope of seeing something I’d be proud to hang over my fireplace.

Long before sunup Saturday morning I slipped into a promising spot in an area that I have consistently seen deer. I had a perfect stalk to get into position. There was just enough wind and traffic noise to cover the sound of me climbing the tree. It was a perfect morning for deer hunting: cool temperatures, steady predictable breeze. I positioned myself 40’ up a large pine on the edge a hillside that sloped down into a very thick swamp. Across my front, from left to right, ran an old logging road that showed lots of recent deer sign.

I watched a gorgeous sunrise over the far ridgeline with a mist hanging over the swamp that glowed almost magically.

At 8:30 a.m. I was silently scanning my whole field of fire from left to right. A moment before the logging road to my left was empty. Now there was a new shape there. I watched closely and saw the flick of an ear, and then the swish of a white tail. Instantly, but quietly and carefully, I brought the rifle up to my shoulder.

Now in my scope I could see more clearly the large 10 point rack decorating the animal’s head. I could also see several other smaller bucks slowly amble into the trail behind their “leader”. In absolute stillness and silence I watched them as they slowly made their along the old road directly towards me.

With great care I took off the safety and made ready for the shot. At a distance of about 50 yards, the 10 point I was eyeing turned broadside and stood stock still, in essence giving me a perfect shot opportunity. I paused in breathing and gently squeezed the trigger while holding the cross hairs over the animal’s heart.

The next sound I heard was “CLICK”! Not “BOOM” but “CLICK”.

In total amazement the thought ran thru my mind “What the …” and THEN I hear “BOOM”! There was more than enough time between the click and the boom for me to completely lose both my concentration AND my point of aim! The bullet and the deer all went to parts unknown.

I sat there, mouth agape, and watched as my quarry and his buddies all melted hurriedly back into the swamp from whence they came. To say that I was sick at my stomach does not begin to describe how I felt at that precise moment.

Other than that….I had a great hunting weekend!

The great Kansas City squirrel slaughter of 1983

Naturally the story takes place in KC as I was stationed there for a couple of years while in the Marines.

A fellow I worked for invited me to go squirrel hunting with him one Saturday morning. I didn’t get too many opportunities to hunt in those days and so I excitedly jumped on the invitation.

On the designated morning I met him at his house and we drove to some woods near Grandview Missouri. We arrived a little late as I recall, since the sun was already up, but better late than never right?

Chuck briefed me on the layout of the property as we entered the edge of the woods. Then he went his way... and I went mine.

Very quickly I realized this was going to be one heck of a hunt. The place was literally crawling with squirrels! And not little grays either; big fat red ones!

I started methodically knocking them down with my Ruger 10/22. I remember a couple of excellent long shots I made that morning. I also remember two squirrels playing together in one tree. They were so engrossed in their play that they paid no heed to me whatsoever as I crept into position for the shot.

Pow! One down. The second squirrel stuck his head out from behind the tree at the exact instant of the shot, and uttered the strangest sound I ever heard from a squirrel. It actually had a little questioning tone to it as if to say “What the heck was that?”

I answered his question with another “Pow” straight thru his perfectly silhouetted head. The memory of those two squirrels makes me smile broadly.

Occasionally I heard Chuck shooting on the other end of the property, but I was too busy to take much notice.

Finally, with the morning growing old and the squirrels having begun to lay low in earnest, I turned and headed back toward the truck. When I got there I found Chuck perched on the tailgate with a cigarette in his mouth and four red squirrels laid out beside him.

“How’d you do” he said. “Sounded like a young war over there where you were at!”

“Oh I did alright” I replied as I laid my rifle down and began to pull squirrels out of my game bag and pockets. His eyes grew wide and his mouth hung open a bit as I just kept pulling out more and more squirrels from every pocket until there were fourteen laid out side by side.

“Holy smokes...I thought you were over there just wasting shells all this time!”

“No I think I did pretty good” says I with a big ole grin.

I’ve killed plenty squirrels over the years, but that morning outside Kansas City still stands as my best, most memorable squirrel hunt.

Fight back against anti-gun bias

More and more businesses these days are posting signs telling gun owners (even those with CCW's) they are unwelcome on their premises. Personally, I will NOT knowingly patronize any business that shows such scorn for individual gun rights. Not just because it makes me furious, but because its been repeatedly proven that these "gun free" zones are nothing but disarmed-victim zones. They aren't safe! If I can't take my .40... I ain't going there!

Well the folks at FIREARMSCOALITION.ORG have printed up this great card to hand to these anti-liberty business owners and SHOW THEM the money that is walking out their door.

For a donation of just $10 they'll send you a pack of 100 cards.

How cool is that?

Somebody killed this one in south GA recently

I've never killed anything so awesome. But even if I did, I doubt it would cure my itch.

Yes...I really believe this

A Tale of Two Sound Bites

By Mark Steyn

Here is a tale of two soundbites. First:

“Slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.”

“The third lesson and tip actually comes from two of my favorite political philosophers, Mao Tse-Tung and Mother Teresa. Not often coupled with each other, but the two people that I turn to most to basically deliver a simple point, which is: You’re going to make choices. . . . But here’s the deal: These are your choices; they are no one else’s. In 1947, when Mao Tse-Tung was being challenged within his own party on his own plan to basically take China over, Chiang Kai-Shek and the nationalist Chinese held the cities, they had the army. . . . They had everything on their side. And people said ‘How can you win . . . ? How can you do this against all of the odds against you?’ And Mao Tse-Tung says, ‘You fight your war and I’ll fight mine . . . ’ You don’t have to accept the definition of how to do things. . . . You fight your war, you let them fight theirs. Everybody has their own path.”

The first quotation was attributed to Rush Limbaugh. He never said it. There is no tape of him saying it. There is no transcript of him saying it. After all, if he had done so at any point in the last 20 years, someone would surely have mentioned it at the time.

Yet CNN, MSNBC, ABC, other networks, and newspapers all around the country cheerfully repeated the pro-slavery quotation and attributed it, falsely, to Rush Limbaugh. And planting a flat-out lie in his mouth wound up getting Rush bounced from a consortium hoping to buy the St. Louis Rams. The NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, said the talkshow host was a “divisive” figure, and famously non-divisive figures like the Rev. Al Sharpton and the Rev. Jesse Jackson expressed the hope that, with Mister Divisive out of the picture, the NFL could now “unify.”

The second quotation — hailing Mao — was uttered back in June to an audience of high-school students by Anita Dunn, the White House communications director. I know she uttered it because I watched the words issuing from her mouth on The Glenn Beck Show on Fox News. But don’t worry. Nobody else played it.

So if I understand correctly:

Rush Limbaugh is so “divisive” that to get him fired leftie agitators have to invent racist soundbites to put in his mouth.

But the White House communications director is so un-divisive that she can be invited along to recommend Chairman Mao as a role model for America’s young.

From my unscientific survey, U.S. school students are all but entirely unaware of Mao Tse-Tung, and the few that aren’t know him mainly as a T-shirt graphic or “agrarian reformer.” What else did he do? Here, from Jonathan Fenby’s book Modern China, is the great man in a nutshell:

“Mao’s responsibility for the extinction of anywhere from 40 to 70 million lives brands him as a mass killer greater than Hitler or Stalin.”

Hey, that’s pretty impressive when they can’t get your big final-score death toll nailed down to closer than 30 million. Still, as President Obama’s communications director might say, he lived his dream, and so can you, although if your dream involves killing, oh, 50–80 million Chinamen, you may have your work cut out. But let’s stick with the Fenby figure: He killed 40–70 million Chinamen. Whoops, can you say “Chinamen” or is that racist? Oh, and sexist. So hard keeping up with the Sensitivity Police in this pansified political culture, isn’t it? But you can kill 40–70 million Chinamen and that’s fine and dandy: You’ll be cited as an inspiration by the White House to an audience of high-school students. You can be anything you want to be! Look at Mao: He wanted to be a mass murderer, and he lived his dream! You can too!

The White House now says that Anita Dunn was “joking.” Anyone tempted to buy that spin should look at the tape: If this is her Friars Club routine, she needs to work on her delivery. But, for the sake of argument, try a thought experiment:

Midway through Bush’s second term, press secretary Tony Snow goes along to Chester A. Arthur High School to give a graduation speech. “I know it looks tough right now. You’re young, you’re full of zip, but the odds seem hopeless. Let me tell you about another young man facing tough choices 80 years ago. It’s last orders at the Munich beer garden — gee, your principal won’t thank me for mentioning that — and all the natural blonds are saying, ‘But Adolf, see reason. The Weimar Republic’s here to stay, and besides the international Jewry control everything.’ And young Adolf Hitler puts down his foaming stein and stands on the table and sings a medley of ‘I Gotta Be Me,’ ‘(Learning to Love Yourself Is) The Greatest Love of All,’ and ‘The Sun’ll Come Out Tomorrow.’” And by the end of that night there wasn’t a Jewish greengrocer’s anywhere in town with glass in its windows. Don’t play by the other side’s rules; make your own kind of music. And always remember: You’ve gotta have a dream, if you don’t have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?”

Anyone think he’d still have a job?

Well, so what? All those dead Chinese are no-name peasants a long way away. What’s the big deal? If you say, “Chairman Mao? Wasn’t he the wacko who offed 70 million Chinks?”, you’ll be hounded from public life for saying the word “Chinks.” But, if you commend the murderer of those 70 million as a role model in almost any school room in the country from kindergarten to the Ivy League, it’s so entirely routine that only a crazy like Glenn Beck would be boorish enough to point it out.

Which is odd, don’t you think? Because it suggests that our present age of politically correct hypersensitivity is not just morally unserious but profoundly decadent.

Twenty years ago this fall, the Iron Curtain was coming down in Europe. Across the Warsaw Pact, the jailers of the Communist prison states lost their nerve, and the cell walls crumbled. Matt Welch, the editor of Reason, wonders why the anniversary is going all but unobserved: Why aren’t we making more of the biggest mass liberation in history?

Well, because to celebrate it would involve recognizing it as a victory over Communism. And, after the Left’s long march through the institutions of the West, most are not willing to do that. There’s the bad totalitarianism (Nazism) and the good totalitarianism (Communism), whose apologists and, indeed, fetishists can still be found everywhere, even unto the White House.

Rush Limbaugh’s remarks are “divisive”; Anita Dunn’s are entirely normal. But don’t worry, the new Fairness Doctrine will take care of the problem.

Could ammo serve as a medium of barter?

GunRights4US's latest forest adventures

This last Saturday morning I proved again that deer only show up when and where you least expect them.

I’m sitting in a cypress tree with a thick cluster of young pines to my front, and a hardwood swamp to my rear. An old firebreak divides the pines from the swamp and I have 60 yards of visibility in both directions. The weather is nice with a mild temperature and a steady breeze from in front of me. Unfortunately, there’s a squirrel convention in full swing. Never in forty years of hunting have I seen so many squirrels in one bit of woods! From every direction comes the sound of barking, gnawing, limbs rustling, and acorns raining down. I can hardly hear myself think, let alone discern the particular sound of the furry, horned, forest ninja commonly known as a whitetail buck.

During a relative lull in the tree rat activities I do seem to hear the sound of foot steps out in the pines off to my left a ways. As if to confirm that something is moving, one of the tree rats scampers out of the pines and across the firebreak. He darts up a tree and proceeds to rant and rave in squirrel-ese at whatever it was that startled him. I watched the area especially hard for the next hour and never saw or heard anything else.

Finally around 11 a.m. I climbed down very quietly and set about gathering myself together for the hike out. I casually glance down the firebreak and there stands Bobby Big Buck looking right at me. I had only enough time to drop my lower jaw – and that’s all. Looking like a bit of furry lightning, he did a high speed vanishing act that would have made Houdini jealous.

Apparently the sound I heard was him coming into that corner of the pines to bed down, and my climb down had been enough to bump him off his bed.

Cheney gave a speech - but I bet you won't see news of it in the US press

I had to go to the Canadia Free Press to get the text of it! Here is the editor's preface to the speech:

By Editor Thursday, October 22, 2009
American opposition to the Obama Administration and/or its policies are ‘silenced.’ Former Vice President Dick Cheney gave an important speech today and it was not televised on any American “news’ or “quasi-news” network. Recently this administration has boasted about ‘controlling’ all American news networks. Indeed, they apparently do. Not even Fox news televised this speech. They have; however, posted the speech on their website. Patriotic Americans believe this isn’t good enough! Please , Please consider posting this speech on your website for the sake of honoring the necessity of free speech for all people. Please Read The Speech Below. Thank you.
E. Morris

Here's an excerpt from Mr. Cheney's remarks: August of this year, speaking at the VFW, the President made a promise to America’s armed forces. “I will give you a clear mission,” he said, “defined goals, and the equipment and support you need to get the job done. That’s my commitment to you.”

It’s time for President Obama to make good on his promise. The White House must stop dithering while America’s armed forces are in danger.

Make no mistake, signals of indecision out of Washington hurt our allies and embolden our adversaries. Waffling, while our troops on the ground face an emboldened enemy, endangers them and hurts our cause.

It's a lengthy, but excellent speech. Read the remainder of it HERE.

Just what our troops need!

Boortz's economics lesson of the day

Neal Boortz is a quintessential jackass on many issues near and dear to my heart (Christianity, Abortion, The Confederacy, to name just a few) but he's ON TARGET with his criticism of government spending and wastefulness.

Here's Boortz's article from this morning:

Knowing that the nation's schools are doing so poorly teaching basic math skills to our children; and assuming that parents, being the ultra-responsible lot that you are, will try to fill in the gaps with some home schooling --- I thought it might be useful to present you with some numbers you might want to use in your remedial education efforts. The added bonus here is that you can also use these numbers to reinforce in your children that President Barack Obama really is, as has been written, "sort of" a God and is clearly succeeding in his quest to lead America to a golden new economic age.

30,383 That's the number of jobs the Obama Administration claimed to have "saved or created" in a statement last Thursday. The trouble is, there is no clearly defined way to determine jobs "saved or created." You can pretty much choose any number and run with it. The New York Post tells us that the tab comes out to $71,500 per saved-or-created job. Ask you child what they think might happen if small businesses had this money through tax cuts to use to expand and grow their businesses.

48,000,000 Since we're speaking of jobs, that's the approximate number of people employed by America's small businesses - specifically the ones that employ between 1 and 49 people. Medium-sized businesses employing 50 to 499 workers count for another 42,000,000 jobs. What about large businesses that employ over 500 people? Try 17,000,000. Surprising, isn't it? Now while you're working through these numbers with your kids be sure to tell them that the vast majority of these small and medium-sized businesses report their business income on their owner's personal tax return. These business owners, then, will be the ones hit when Barack Obama gets his tax increases on people earning over $250,000 a year. They employ most of our workers, and they're going to take the tax hit. Ask your child how they think this is going to work out! If you work for one of these small businesses you may want to give that some thought yourself.

$2,300,000 That's the amount of borrowed stimulus money that was sent to beauty schools in the Tampa, Florida area to train hairdressers, masseuses and nail technicians. People who are already licensed to do hair, nails and give massages in the Tampa area are looking for work. There will be no jobs waiting for the students who use this money to get their "beauty" licenses. The Florida Cosmetology Association says only 1% to 2% of beauty school grads will be working in that field five years after graduation. Use these numbers to try to convince your child that there are better things for them to train for than cutting hair, polishing nails and giving massages in Tampa.

61.4% Percentages are fun! It's bonus time when you can use percentages to teach your children about the perils of debt. At the end of 1999, as we were moving into the last year of the Clinton Administration, the amount of money our government owed was 61.4% of our GDP; the total value of all goods and services produced in this country during that year. By the time George Bush was through that figure had gone up by 8.8 percentage points to 70.2%. Not good. But ... by the time Barack Obama gets his first year all wrapped up that figure will have risen another 20.2 percentage points to 90.4%! We're on a roll! And here's your final fun percentage figure: In 2011 that figure will reach the magic 100%. At that point we owe more than the total value of our economy. That has to be the definition of something! Bankruptcy? Oh ... and we're not even talking unfunded liabilities here.

Finally ...

9% That's an unemployment figure. That's how high Barack Obama said our unemployment figure would go if we did not quickly pass his super-effective stimulus plan earlier this year. (It's over 11% here in NE Florida right now)

7.9% That's how high Obama said unemployment would rise if we would just give him over $750 billion dollars to stimulate our economy. We did; and ....

9.8% That's our latest unemployment figure. Looks like the stimulus worked! The figure includes hairdressers, nail techs and massage therapists - in case you're wondering.

My testimony as submitted to Oath Keepers

If you are (or were) military or law enforcement, you took an oath to defend the US Constitution "against all enemies, foreign and domestic". Hopefully you recognise that the oath had no expiration date. Furthermore you should recognise that the political class and their blatant disregard for the oath is no example for a patriot to follow.

The Oath Keepers were formed for the purpose of reminding us of our oath, and to renew the commitment we made and clarify how that applies in the current political environment where the Constitution is being turned into nothing more than a door mat.

What follows is my own testimony that I submitted to Oath Keepers. I pray continually for the success of this effort to renew support for the Rule of Law (as opposed to the tyranny of man).

I have long been considering how exactly I want to articulate my views regarding the oath. It’s fine line that I’m walking here. On one hand I want to be truthful and clearly express myself, and on the other hand I don’t care to trigger an unwelcome midnight visit by heavily armed masked men intent on introducing me to the “next world”.

My original oath was rendered in the late 70’s when I was barely 17 years old. I certainly took the oath seriously in that I did not join the Marines for job training or college funding. But little did I realize that I was in essence writing the nation a blank check that eventually could come due - payable in my own blood. And furthermore, at that tender age I saw threats to the nation in the form of communism or creeping materialism, but never did I imagine that the most deadly threat would one day take the form of our own government.

Now it has come to pass that the Republic is still threatened by many powerful external foes long present in our history, as well as new equally deadly threats from within. It is apparent to me that the most dangerous threat of all comes from our own politicians who are vigorously trampling the Constitution, either from gross ignorance or in their quest for increased power.

The electorate consists of legions of people who have learned to “vote for a living” without the least concern for the welfare of the nation, and they are being aided and abetted by a political class who has learned that buying votes is the surest way to consolidate their hold on power. With no one concerned about such abstract ideas as liberty, justice, or the rule of law, the ship of state lumbers forward through a deepening fog with no competent master at the helm. It’s only a matter of time before she runs aground on the rocks and shoals of economic disaster, nuclear terrorism, or unrestricted illegal immigration.

I desperately want to believe that when worse comes to worst our police and military will refuse to obey the orders that lead to totalitarianism, but to be bluntly honest I don’t put much faith in the thought that they will. For entirely too many people the paycheck or power trumps their principles. They may know what’s right, but having the courage to do it is a different story altogether.

So to carry the ship analogy just a bit farther, as America voyages on in deepening darkness, I am resolved that I will not dishonor myself and my oath. I am resolved that my faith will remain locked on Jesus, my family, my rifle, and my friends. I will not be disarmed. I will not surrender my liberty. And I will not suffer an oppressive government for my children or grandchildren.

May God give me the strength and courage to fulfill my oath to the utmost, and may he continue to shed his grace on the United States of America.

Another Obama official quoting Mao

"Generally speaking we get the joke. We know that the free market is nonsense. We know that the whole point is to game the system, to beat the market, or at least find someone who will pay you a lot of money because they’re convinced that there is a free lunch. We know this is largely about power, that it’s an adults only, no limit game. We kind of agree with Mao that political power comes largely from the barrel of a gun. And we get it that if you want a friend, you should get a dog."

Wow. With the election of Obama, we've truly clasped a serpent to our proverbial breast!

How long before Gubmint just stops elections altogether?

Justice Dept. concludes black voters need Democratic Party

U.S. blocks N.C. city's nonpartisan vote

KINSTON, N.C. Voters in this small city decided overwhelmingly last year to do away with the party affiliation of candidates in local elections, but the Obama administration recently overruled the electorate and decided that equal rights for black voters cannot be achieved without the Democratic Party.

The Justice Department's ruling, which affects races for City Council and mayor, went so far as to say partisan elections are needed so that black voters can elect their "candidates of choice" - identified by the department as those who are Democrats and almost exclusively black.

The department ruled that white voters in Kinston will vote for blacks only if they are Democrats and that therefore the city cannot get rid of party affiliations for local elections because that would violate black voters' right to elect the candidates they want.

GunRights4US - Now read that last sentence above very slowly and carefully. Once your head stops spinning around you can read the whole article here.

In my opinion, there is almost no Gubmint action more heinous and unconstitutional than the direct reversal of the expressed will of the voters. Yet it's happening more and more these days. Here's a perfect example of an unelected Gubmint chair-warmer who simply overrules the Will of The People.

What is it going to take for Americans to rise up and fight this crap?

The Committee to Abolish Sport Hunting

I found this website quite by accident today, and I could NOT help dropping them a note to express how I feel about guns, hunting, and Liberal do-gooders. Here's their email address if you too feel like making a comment:

Here's the mail I sent them:

I stumbled across your website to abolish hunting and I felt compelled to take a moment and speak to you.

My initial thought was to rant and rave, but I decided to take a different approach on the outside chance that maybe a less strident perspective would perhaps have a better chance of being heard.

I have hunted my entire life. Guns were such a huge part of my childhood that I can honestly say I have no memory of the first time I ever fired one. Keeping squirrels and blue jays out of the pecans, grapes, plums, figs, etc. was one of my regular chores as a small boy, and it was not uncommon for me to squirrel hunt unsupervised as young as eight.

Guns were not mythical devices steeped in mystery or possessed of magical properties. They were simply tools that could be put to use, either safely or otherwise. One of the great tragedies of our current era is that guns have been so demonized and vilified to the extent that large swaths of the population react with pure hysteria at their mere mention. Instead of teaching safety and careful handling, the campaign to vilify guns has lead to stark ignorance by the general public with the expected results (and the resulting agenda driven focus on those same results).

I can honestly say that hunting has provided me with some of the most enjoyable moments of my 48 years on this earth. That there are do-gooder, Nanny State liberals out there that would strip me and my children of this enjoyment angers me to no end. A comparison of mortality statistics from swimming pools, automobiles, paint buckets, and lead in baby’s cribs SHOULD be enough to demonstrate to the rational mind that LIFE can be hazardous. How is it that some among us have decided that THEY are in the best position to know what’s good for us and what isn’t?

Ever see the animated film WALLEE? Note how the humans were all fat, homogenized, mindless, and totally self absorbed as they floated around on their little chairs completely incapable of even getting to their feet and walking unassisted. I am beginning to believe that collectivist Nanny Staters are perfectly okay with that vision of man-kind’s future. I am not!

Guns and shooting mean more than simple enjoyment to me and my ilk. They are the symbols of individual freedom that most of the rest of this world is now denied. There are those here in America who would, under the guise of “safety”, deny us the right to keep and bear arms. They point to hunting accidents, crime, violence and a host of other indicators as evidence of our incivility. In my view, civilization has reached its highest nadir with an armed populace. To step away from that is to step backward and towards tyranny.

Even the soft tyranny offered by Nanny State liberals is totally unacceptable to people like me. We’ve accepted that death is a part of life, as are accidents, and occasionally bad people. But whether you look at accidents or crime, when you set the statistics against a backdrop of 80,000,000 gun owners who shot NO ONE today, or the uncounted millions of hunters who went to the woods and NO ONE got hurt today, it becomes increasingly clear that your movement is one based on hysteria, fear, and outright foolishness.

Know this: Me and my kind will NEVER be disarmed, whether it be for “safety” sake or for political silence. And here’s the bottom line of that sentiment. To affect that against our will is going to require that some mother’s son come and risk his life to disarm us. And on that sad occasion, someone is going to die. Period. So if the preservation of life is really your utmost goal, I suggest you go pester toy companies that sell baby toys with detachable parts that come off and choke little ones. Leave the hunting and shooting sports alone.

For ALL our sakes!

Conservatives versus Liberals

If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn’t buy one.

If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.

If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.

A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.

If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a black man or Hispanic are conservative, they see themselves as independently successful.

Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.

A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.

Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.

A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced... (Unless it’s a foreign religion, of course!)

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.

A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and is embarrassed.

If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he's in labor and then sues.

If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.

A liberal will delete it because he's "offended".

Something bad that turned out okay

So here I am at the foot of an exit ramp. And some guy rams my truck in the rear-end. My first reaction was pure anger, not so much at the damage surely done to the truck, but the inconvenience of trying to get it fixed – and with hunting season’s opener just around the corner!
Imagine my shock to discover that the damage to my truck was very minimal. Since it has nearly 250,000 miles on it, I am unconcerned with appearances. After all it’s a “well used” vehicle. A quick check revealed that the tailgate was still fully functional and the load-leveler trailer hitch was entirely undamaged. In fact the hitch is what kept the damage to my truck so nil.

On the other hand the other’s guy’s car was tore all to pieces. In fact – it wasn't even drivable!

The important thing of course was that no one was hurt.

Fast forward: My phone rings and it's the insurance adjustor for the other driver’s insurance carrier. Mr. Adjustor says that if I go to the body shop and get an estimate of repair they will issue me a check to cover said repair! I’m not interested in the inconvenience of putting my truck in the shop, but I will take the check. With the tiny amount of damage I figured the repairs couldn’t possibly cost more than two or three hundred bucks.

Boy was I surprised to get an estimate of $850!!!

Now don’t you know that I immediately went by the gun shop and picked out a Remington Tactical 1100 with a sweet little 10 round magazine!

Here’s my question:

Should I write a "thank you" note to the other driver, with maybe a picture of my new toy enclosed?

A former Hitler Youth gives America a warning

The socialists within want to take over

Exclusive: Hilmar von Campe compares his experience under Hitler to today's America Posted: August 18, 2009 1:00 am Eastern

Editor's note: Hilmar von Campe is author of the book "Defeating the Totalitarian Lie: A Former Hitler Youth Warns America," which is available at WND's online store.

Shall we allow them? The United States is close to be taken over from within by Barack Hussein Obama, a development similar to those in Germany at the beginning of the 1930s.

I grew up under the Nazis, and what I saw then there I see now here. There is nothing theoretical when I speak about what happens when a nation throws God out of government and society and when Christians become religious bystanders. I am not part of those who want some people to look bad by calling them Nazis, as Nancy Pelosi and so many people do nowadays. My writing is based on my own experience and that of my family. We were there.

The White House launched what could be called a "snitch" program by asking Americans to forward to a White House e-mail address anything regarding health care reform that they consider "fishy." This should help the government, explains the White House director of new media, Macon Phillips, to uncover the truth about the president's position and find the "disinformation" about health care "reform." The "snitch" program is opening the door to Gestapo methods.

When I was a child, Gestapo agents took positions in front of our church and wrote down the names of those who entered. It was intimidation, and everybody knew what it meant to be of different opinion than the Nazi government. My parents entered the church nevertheless, along with us four children. My father, a civil servant, in spite of being sacked when the Nazis came to power, did not compromise. For my parents, the greatest preoccupation in those years was the integrity of us children whom they didn't want to be infected by Nazi philosophy. The Gestapo had their informants everywhere, and they liked to discover through innocent children what their parents were up to. It was forbidden by law to listen to foreign radios and could lead to death penalty if found out. My father used to listen at 10 p.m. to the Swiss station Berom√ľnster so we children wouldn't notice.

Are we headed for a Nazi-style totalitarian abyss? Find out in "Defeating the Totalitarian Lie: A Former Hitler Youth Warns America"

According to media reports, the end-of-life-counseling, part of the health care "reform" in the bill before Congress, contains the philosophy that not all people have the same value for society and that, therefore, treatment for old people should be different than that for young people. In various television shows, the issue of the possibility of euthanasia is being discussed. This is also a criminal Nazi concept at the heart of their ideology. The Jews were declared by "law" to be less valuable than the Arian German race and eventually killed. Important for the Nazis also was the contribution of a person to society. Handicapped and old people were of no use to them. Therefore, they were led to a cost-saving death.

Our home in Germany was close to the Bodelschwinghsche Institute in Bethel, a complex where disabled people were looked after. When a Nazi commission arrived to pick up these people to be killed, the head of this Christian institution, Pastor Friedrich von Bodelschwing, put up such a ferocious and noisy battle for their lives that the commission had to give up and depart. But the euthanasia program nevertheless went ahead and was followed by the Holocaust. Does the health care project lead to an early end for old people for cost-saving reasons? One cannot trust the Democratic Party, which has abortion in its political platform and therefore is most likely also open to euthanasia. I prefer the clean direction of the patriotic tea party movement, which has taken our corrupt government establishment to task.

Obama did not visit Israel, our only democratic ally for many decades in the Middle East, but he made a speech to the Islamic nations and spoke of a new beginning. I did not hear him talk about the ceaseless firing of Arab missiles into Israel, asking them to begin change with themselves and stop firing missiles. Instead, he set up a Gestapo-like apparatus in the American Jerusalem Consulate to monitor Jewish movements in the neighborhoods of Jerusalem and the West Bank. Obama guaranteed the Palestinian Authority Israeli land they want, including East Jerusalem. Via the Israeli ambassador in Washington, he and Secretary of State Clinton try to dictate to the Israeli government what they should do and not do. At the same time, however, a senior adviser to PA President Mahmoud Abbas, Rashideh al-Mughrabi, declares in an interview with WND, "I don't believe there are any civilians in Israel; all of Israel society is a military society and therefore a military target." He joins Obama, who promotes abortion, in the philosophy that lives of others do not matter.

There are many discussions about what could be the real purpose of Barack Hussein Obama. It is important to know what his aims are to understand what we are facing.

In my book "Defeating the Totalitarian Lie," I speak of the enemy within and the enemy outside. I have a list of enemies of God, a few names only as examples, just to make the reader understand the essentials. Obama represents the melting of the godless enemies within and outside the United States in what is the coup de grace for a corrupt society. With other words, Obama's trillion-dollar projects belie a purpose to cripple the American economy and integrate a weak United States into the communist/socialist United Nations world order. This includes fake reasons to make the American people come along. If these projects became law, I believe, the middle class would have such strong financial difficulties that people would be unable to resist him. Therefore, rather than bipartisan understanding. rejection is the need of the hour.

The priority for Hitler as for Obama was then and is now to control the lifelines of their respective nations, which includes the silencing of the opposition so that they cannot be removed from power. I described in an earlier article how Hitler reached absolute power. Obama is struggling to get there.

What links the enemies within and without is organized godlessness. The lies of the outside aggressors and of the inside helpers may have different purposes, but they are all anti-American. I had to face the fact that my personal lies and my personal immorality made me blind to the nature of the Nazis and their anti-God purpose. Hitler could use me and millions of others, making us morally co-responsible for his atrocities in which I had no part. Every American who loves this country has to face the same responsibility for his government. Christian bystanders were in Germany and are in America the most important helpers of totalitarian politicians. America needs a moral rebirth.

Here's what I mean: Abortionist Barack Obama and Fidel Castro are part of the enemies of God because of the unchanged evil inside of them, their disregard of human life. They are on the wrong side of the battle line. Their purpose and actions are an insult to God.

The political and ideological battle line, therefore, is not between Democrats and Republicans, or between capitalism and socialism. The Nazis (national Socialists) were not Fascists. Fascism is not totalitarian. It is an ordinary immoral dictatorship. In their ideology, the Nazis were always part of global Marxist Socialism. Marxism, with its hatred and envy, is in its roots godless and incompatible with Christian teachings and therefore with our Constitution. Germany went down because of godlessness, and America is sliding down for the same reason. Obama and Pelosi, to name only two, are closer to the Nazis than to our Founding Fathers and our Constitution.

The economy is not the heart of the matter. It is only a consequence. The real issue where fundamental change is asked for is the relationship of this nation and of every American citizen with God and His commandments. When I speak of God I mean God, our creator, not religion. This country has too many laws that stink. Society has to be cleansed. America must become literally a nation under God. Then America can change the world. We need a president and members of Congress who stand for truth and life and not for lies and death.

Just for laughs

They're out to destroy Rush

The Rush Limbaugh media lynch mob

Which public figure can be quoted as having said something bigoted and disgusting and it doesn’t matter whether he did or not because he might have? Who can Big Media brand a racist without checking the facts? Who has to prove he did not say something racist, rather than the accuser proving he did?

A pat on the back for anyone who guessed the answer: Rush Limbaugh (OK, the blog headline was a clue). From CNN to MSNBC to ABC, it’s been put about that Limbaugh said this:

I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.

It’s also been spread around that he said this, about the death of the man who assassinated Martin Luther King:

You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honour? James Earl Ray. We miss you, James. Godspeed.

Read the rest here.

GunRights4US- I'm not particularly a Rush fan. But there's no denying he's been a force against all that's leftist and liberal for the past few years. Watching something on TV last night about his being kicked out of the group trying to buy the Rams, I saw piece on the Lame Stream Media that showed a picture of Rush taken years ago when he was 85 pounds heavier! No trick is too dirty for these bastards!

Lead by example bitch!

ROME – Foul-mouthed comedian Sarah Silverman has a new proposal for ending world hunger: Sell the Vatican.

In a new profanity-laced monologue making the rounds on YouTube in time for U.N. World Food Day on Friday, Silverman suggests that it's time for the pope to "move out of your house that is a city" and use the proceeds to feed the world's poor.

"On an ego level alone you will be the biggest hero in the history of ever!" she said. "Sell the Vatican. Feed the world."

While I am not a Catholic, I AM a Christian. And I see this kind of nonsense as a typical anti-christian attack diatribe. If Sarah Silverman is so concerned with the world's poor, she should lead by example and immediately give her belongings to charity. I'm sure as a celebrity she makes a bundle, so why not show us all how it's done!

This is beyond belief - even for liberals!

It’s one thing to vote for your guy. Heck it’s even understandable to get excited at a political rally for your guy.

But THIS is a direct effort to build a personality cult that trumps everything that America stands for:

Be sure you read the comments down below and see for yourself the degree of devotion the Obama-bots have for their guy. Remember that the meaning of the flag is that it represents The Nation.

I place no faith or allegiance in ANY human being. I loved Ronald Reagan such that he was my all time favorite president. That being said – I would be revolted by an ersatz American flag bearing his image upon it.

No man is above the law. To believe otherwise is to reject EVERY cardinal principle this country was founded upon. That someone would do this to a US flag is stark irrefutable evidence that their loyalty is to the person rather than the nation.

Tell me again that liberals love America too!

If I ever actually see this with my own eyes, I can NOT be held accountable for my response. I served this country as a US Marine and by so doing I wrote this country a blank check that I was (and still am) willing to cash with my very life.

Any person, owning, selling, or flying this disgusting abomination, is in dire peril of their life in my opinion. They are nothing but vile traitors, and as such they are my PERSONAL enemy with all that connotes.

Someone takes OwlGore to task ...finally...and so they just kill the mic

Meet the people who did NOT get the Nobel Peace Prize (because Obama did)

Sima Samar, women's rights activist in Afghanistan: "With dogged persistence and at great personal risk, she kept her schools and clinics open in Afghanistan even during the most repressive days of the Taliban regime, whose laws prohibited the education of girls past the age of eight. When the Taliban fell, Samar returned to Kabul and accepted the post of Minister for Women's Affairs."

Ingrid Betancourt: French-Colombian ex-hostage held for six years.

Dr. Denis Mukwege: Doctor, founder and head of Panzi Hospital in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo. He has dedicated his life to helping Congolese women and girls who are victims of gang rape and brutal sexual violence."

Handicap International and Cluster Munition Coalition: "These organizations are recognized for their consistently serious efforts to clean up cluster bombs, also known as land mines. Innocent civilians are regularly killed worldwide because the unseen bombs explode when stepped upon."

Hu Jia, a human rights activist and an outspoken critic of the Chinese government, who was sentenced last year to a three-and-a-half-year prison term for 'inciting subversion of state power.'"

Wei Jingsheng, who spent 17 years in Chinese prisons for urging reforms of China's communist system. He now lives in the United States."

Letterman deserves EVERY slam he gets

You will NOT read much about the celebrity world on this blog, mainly because I am not infected with the same celebrity worship bug that so many Americans are. But I am enjoying watching Letterman squirm as a result of the recent revelation that he's a philanderer.

My delight is rooted in the fact that he so sanctimoniously lectured others ...and now he's ripe for ridicule as a bloody hypocrite! But if you read the article here you'll see that none of Letterman's past "targets" feel inclined to lash back at him.

Here's my mood for the day!

Is the US dollar on the verge of collapse?

This is the headline on Drudge this morning:

Here's the article it links to in The Independent:

The demise of the dollar

In a graphic illustration of the new world order, Arab states have launched secret moves with China, Russia and France to stop using the US currency for oil trading

By Robert Fisk

Tuesday, 6 October 2009

In the most profound financial change in recent Middle East history, Gulf Arabs are planning – along with China, Russia, Japan and France – to end dollar dealings for oil, moving instead to a basket of currencies including the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan, the euro, gold and a new, unified currency planned for nations in the Gulf Co-operation Council, including Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Qatar.

Secret meetings have already been held by finance ministers and central bank governors in Russia, China, Japan and Brazil to work on the scheme, which will mean that oil will no longer be priced in dollars.

The plans, confirmed to The Independent by both Gulf Arab and Chinese banking sources in Hong Kong, may help to explain the sudden rise in gold prices, but it also augurs an extraordinary transition from dollar markets within nine years.

The Americans, who are aware the meetings have taken place – although they have not discovered the details – are sure to fight this international cabal which will include hitherto loyal allies Japan and the Gulf Arabs. Against the background to these currency meetings, Sun Bigan, China's former special envoy to the Middle East, has warned there is a risk of deepening divisions between China and the US over influence and oil in the Middle East. "Bilateral quarrels and clashes are unavoidable," he told the Asia and Africa Review. "We cannot lower vigilance against hostility in the Middle East over energy interests and security."

This sounds like a dangerous prediction of a future economic war between the US and China over Middle East oil – yet again turning the region's conflicts into a battle for great power supremacy. China uses more oil incrementally than the US because its growth is less energy efficient. The transitional currency in the move away from dollars, according to Chinese banking sources, may well be gold. An indication of the huge amounts involved can be gained from the wealth of Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar who together hold an estimated $2.1 trillion in dollar reserves.

The decline of American economic power linked to the current global recession was implicitly acknowledged by the World Bank president Robert Zoellick. "One of the legacies of this crisis may be a recognition of changed economic power relations," he said in Istanbul ahead of meetings this week of the IMF and World Bank. But it is China's extraordinary new financial power – along with past anger among oil-producing and oil-consuming nations at America's power to interfere in the international financial system – which has prompted the latest discussions involving the Gulf states.

Brazil has shown interest in collaborating in non-dollar oil payments, along with India. Indeed, China appears to be the most enthusiastic of all the financial powers involved, not least because of its enormous trade with the Middle East.

China imports 60 per cent of its oil, much of it from the Middle East and Russia. The Chinese have oil production concessions in Iraq – blocked by the US until this year – and since 2008 have held an $8bn agreement with Iran to develop refining capacity and gas resources. China has oil deals in Sudan (where it has substituted for US interests) and has been negotiating for oil concessions with Libya, where all such contracts are joint ventures.

Furthermore, Chinese exports to the region now account for no fewer than 10 per cent of the imports of every country in the Middle East, including a huge range of products from cars to weapon systems, food, clothes, even dolls. In a clear sign of China's growing financial muscle, the president of the European Central Bank, Jean-Claude Trichet, yesterday pleaded with Beijing to let the yuan appreciate against a sliding dollar and, by extension, loosen China's reliance on US monetary policy, to help rebalance the world economy and ease upward pressure on the euro.

Ever since the Bretton Woods agreements – the accords after the Second World War which bequeathed the architecture for the modern international financial system – America's trading partners have been left to cope with the impact of Washington's control and, in more recent years, the hegemony of the dollar as the dominant global reserve currency.

The Chinese believe, for example, that the Americans persuaded Britain to stay out of the euro in order to prevent an earlier move away from the dollar. But Chinese banking sources say their discussions have gone too far to be blocked now. "The Russians will eventually bring in the rouble to the basket of currencies," a prominent Hong Kong broker told The Independent. "The Brits are stuck in the middle and will come into the euro. They have no choice because they won't be able to use the US dollar."

Chinese financial sources believe President Barack Obama is too busy fixing the US economy to concentrate on the extraordinary implications of the transition from the dollar in nine years' time. The current deadline for the currency transition is 2018.

The US discussed the trend briefly at the G20 summit in Pittsburgh; the Chinese Central Bank governor and other officials have been worrying aloud about the dollar for years. Their problem is that much of their national wealth is tied up in dollar assets.

"These plans will change the face of international financial transactions," one Chinese banker said. "America and Britain must be very worried. You will know how worried by the thunder of denials this news will generate."

Iran announced late last month that its foreign currency reserves would henceforth be held in euros rather than dollars. Bankers remember, of course, what happened to the last Middle East oil producer to sell its oil in euros rather than dollars. A few months after Saddam Hussein trumpeted his decision, the Americans and British invaded Iraq.

Of course the Arabs are denying the report!

Subsidized Health Care: a view from the exam room

An excerpt from this doctor's article:

She said that she knew already that her risk for developing breast cancer was likely higher than that of most women.

"But I don't have insurance," she replied.

A screening mammogram could be obtained for about $90 and was discounted or free at local facilities every October for "Breast Cancer Awareness Month."

She smiled when I proposed a deal: if she were to get a screening mammogram within sixty days of her treatment, I would offer a discount on what she paid me for cosmetic services.

"I'll think about it," she said, then shelled out over $400 for BotoxTM injections that took me ten minutes to administer.

Five months later, when she returned for her next wrinkle treatment, she reported that she still had not obtained a mammogram.

Now you DO know that poor people in America are NOT poor by the world's standards right?

Our poor have cell phones, color TV, *air conditioning, manicured nails, etc. How in blazes do they afford these luxuries? Surely you realize they do so by getting assistance in various ways for life's necessities which frees up their funds for luxuries. Any one with a teenager who works (an increasing rarity these days) that they want YOU to pay for new shoes so they can go to the movies with friends!
