Street scenes in Jamaica

Somewhere in St. Elizabeth, far back in the hills, a curvy country road passes an old walled-in cemetery.

Morning traffic, not for the faint of heart!

A section of the new Jamaica superhighway...rumored to be a private enterprise spearheaded by some French firm.

I've never been to Jamaica. I've been to Saint Thomas, though. I liked the islands, but I wonder how people make a living other than tourism in that kind of place.

Having no social safety net of the sort that we have here, they are surprisingly industrious there. Everybody's an entrepreneur!
