Oops! Kung Fu found dead from kinky sex act

I see where David Carradine was found dead this week. I always enjoyed the old TV show Kung Fu. But unlike many Americans, I have resisted the tendency to deify various celebrities.

My wife and I were discussing this phenomenon in a conversation about Princess Diana recently, and I noted the frequency with which she said she liked this one, or disliked that one. I pointed out that the person you THINK you know is seldom the real person. After all, in the case of actors, you the fan only have exposure to the person’s assumed identity in the various characters they’ve played. So it’s really pointless to glom onto some celebrity and decide that you like them. YOU DON’T KNOW THEM!

Americans have really gone over the edge where celebrities are concerned. Do a Google search on Paris Hilton and Patrick Henry; then note the vast difference in the number of hits. Celebrity worship (and professional sports) serves as a major distraction from issues of serious consequence. Huge numbers of Americans know the intricate details of their favorite movie star’s life, and at the same time are totally ignorant of what their congressman is up to – or even who their congressman is!

As this all relates to David Carradine, it’s interesting to note he was found with a rope around his neck AND the other end tied to his pecker. I guess it’s safe to assume that he came and went at the same time. He, like so many people, had a fascination with his genitalia; and it turned out to be a fatal fascination at that!

Not that I wish ill upon the man – don’t misinterpret this comment: But this kind of incident serves to show that celebrities are human too. Not that it will in any way diminish the star worshiper’s overall fervor. People will continue to put these “stars” on a pedestal, and stars will continue to fall off that pedestal and bust their ass.

Good Night Grasshopper. I hope it was worth it.

I am more and more convinced that the little bit of freedom remaining in this country is going to be snuffed out. Listening to his royal highness, King Obama, give his speech to the Egyptians I was hearing a leader who is ready to kiss the backside of ANYBODY out there, except white Christian conservatives. American sovereignty is seriously endangered. The entire Constitution is being ignored at best, or even treated as a joke. All it's going to take is some UN treaty that mandates civilian disarmament (for the children!) and the Obama camp will leap to sign it!

Ammo is expensive and it's NOT going to get any cheaper. Time is running out. In my humble opinion you need to make an effort to ensure that you know how to use those guns you've got stashed away. There may come a time in the very near future when firing a gun will become very difficult.

HAHN, Germany — As President Obama prepared to leave Washington to fly to the Middle East, he conducted several television and radio interviews at the White House to frame the goals for a five-day trip, including the highly-anticipated speech Thursday at Cairo University in Egypt.

In an interview with Laura Haim on Canal Plus, a French television station, Mr. Obama noted that the United States also could be considered as “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.”...

Was that an observation or a wish?

“What I want to do is to create a better dialogue so that the Muslim world understands more effectively how the United States, but also how the West thinks about many of these difficult issues like terrorism, like democracy, to discuss the framework for what’s happened in Iraq and Afghanistan and our outreach to Iran, and also how we view the prospects for peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians,” Mr. Obama said.

The president said the United States and other parts of the Western world “have to educate ourselves more effectively on Islam.”

I'm all for that. And I hereby offer my services to assist in this great effort.

“And one of the points I want to make is, is that if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world,” Mr. Obama said. “And so there’s got to be a better dialogue and a better understanding between the two peoples.”...

Indonesia: 200 million Muslims. India: 156 million Muslims. Pakistan: 150 million Muslims.

United States: 2.3 million Muslims (according to the Pew Research Center).

Obama visits Saudi king to open a Muslim dialogue

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is beginning his latest bid to open a dialogue with the Muslim world by paying a call on Saudi King Abdullah, guardian of Islam's sacred sites in Mecca and Medina.

The monarch of Saudi Arabia plans to greet Obama at Riyadh's main airport with coffee and ceremony when he arrives Wednesday after an overnight flight from Washington.

Saudi Arabia is a stopover en route to Cairo, where Obama is to set deliver a speech that he's been promising since last year's election campaign — aiming to set a new tone in America's often-strained dealings with the world's 1.5 billion Muslims.

Many of those Muslims still smolder over Iraq, Guantanamo and unflinching U.S. support of Israel, but they are hoping the son of a Kenyan Muslim who lived part of his childhood in Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim country, can help chart a new course. [No doubt he'll whisper in the King's ear: "Hey, I'm one of you guys!"]

"You know, there are misapprehensions about the West, on the part of the Muslim world," Obama said in a pretrip interview with the BBC. "And, obviously, there are some big misapprehensions about the Muslim world when it comes to those of us in the West." [It's all a big misunderstanding isn't it? Geeeze these people are too stupid to pour piss out of a boot!]

Aides cautioned that Obama was not out to break new policy ground in his Cairo speech, which follows visits to Turkey and Iraq in April and a series of outreach efforts including a Persian New Year video and a student town hall in Istanbul. And they said the president is not expecting quick results, even though the speech will be distributed as widely as possible.

"We don't expect that everything will change after one speech," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Tuesday. "I think it will take a sustained effort and that's what the president is in for." [But if you just keep apologizing for America, maybe they'll like us huh?]

Obama said to be open to taxing health benefits

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is leaving the door open to taxing health care benefits, something he campaigned hard against while running for president. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., raised the issue with Obama during a private meeting Tuesday with the president and other Democratic senators and later reported the president's response: "It's on the table. It's an option."

The federal government would reap about $250 billion a year if it treated health care benefits given to employees like wages and taxed them.

Baucus and others are eyeing that money as they search for ways to pay for a costly health care overhaul that would extend coverage to 50 million Americans who are now uninsured. That could cost some $1.5 trillion over 10 years.

The president adamantly opposed health benefit taxes during the campaign, arguing they would undermine job-based coverage. But he's now indicating openness to that suggestion from Congress, even if he criticized Republican presidential rival John McCain for proposing a sweeping version of the same basic idea.

Another embarassing moment - brought to you by the Obama administration

So our Tax Cheat In Charge, otherwise known as the Secretary of the Treasury, goes to China. And while there he gave a speech to Chinese college students somewhere in Beijing.

Apparently after the speech was over, Tax Cheat Geithner took some questions from his audience. "Chinese assets are very safe," Geithner said in response to a question from one of the students. This was in reference to the approximately $768 billion worth of US T-Bills owned by the Chinese.

His answer “drew loud laughter from his student audience, reflecting skepticism in China about the wisdom of a developing country accumulating a vast stockpile of foreign reserves instead of spending the money to raise living standards at home.”

There’s another line from that speech that probably brought the house down too. Something about "very disciplined" future spending.

So we’ve become the laughingstock of China now!

But I’ll console myself with this thought: We might have sold them some worthless crap investments, but they BOUGHT worthless crap investments!

AND LET'S DROP THE WORD "INSURANCE" FROM ALL OF THIS

It's not health "insurance" we're talking about here; it's a health care payment plan.

Insurance is something you purchase to partially reimburse you for UNEXPECTED expenses related to home or auto ownership, or your health. Your auto insurance policy will step in with some cash for a crash, but not for an oil change or new tires. Your homeowner's insurance will come up with some money for repairs to fire damage, but not to replace your water heater or that 20-year-old roof. There are certain budgetary requirements that come into play when you own a house or a car, and your insurance company would laugh you out of the county if you went to them to be reimbursed for an oil change or having your carpets cleaned.

Why, then, do you think that your health "insurance" should pay for ordinary and expected healthcare expenses? It shouldn't. These are things that you should budget for. But the American people have a different idea. They believe that their health care is someone else's responsibility - either their employer's or the governments. Power-mad politicians are only too glad to pander to that idiotic expectation.

You think the government has control over vast amounts of your life now? Wait until the government controls your health care.
