That was my view for many years until I read Vin Supryniwicz's book Send In The Waco Killers.
There's a chapter there that makes an excellent point: The jury might be the best way revolt against oppressive laws and regulations. It's the way the common man can go directly against activist judges and socialist legislators.
Read about the unjust trial and acquital of William Penn. It's an outstanding example of how a righteous jury can set right the wrongs of an evil judge and prosecutor.
I go to jury duty, put on my happiest face, and nullify. I don't preach; don't discuss' don't rationalize. As a cranky old injineer, I can find a hole in any case. Even civil cases, where I think the litigation is frivolous, I can just vote against any damages. I wish I could get called more often!
